The high purity of the unprocessed silica quartz positions Solar Silicon Resource Group’s as a global leader to meet the growing demand: in lump quartz used in the manufacture of metallurgical-grade silicon in high purity solar grade (5N) polysilicon, in semiconductor grade polysilicon, and in fused quartz used in the manufacture of crucibles, halogen lamps, LCD glass substrates and high purity silica fillers.

Independent reports confirm that demand for high purity silicon will double by 2015 largely driven by demand for solar grade silicon. In addition, demand for high purity quartz and ultra-high purity quartz is expected to grow at 15% per year or more over the next 5 years.

With an as mined purity of 99.98% Si02, and a deposit estimated at over 6 million tonnes, Lighthouse Quartz is arguably the most pure large scale surface quartz deposit in the world.
