AMIRA brings together groups of its members with common interests and needs to sponsor contracted research projects. Contract researchers are recruited and managed by AMIRA. Members who sponsor research share costs, risks and outcomes. Cost sharing allows members to participate in a wider range of projects than might otherwise be the case.
AMIRA also administers the Australian Coal Research Association Research Program. The value of levy funded research in this program at 30 June was $26.2 million in 129 projects.
Our Company Message
The Australian Mineral Industries Research Association Ltd (AMIRA) was founded in 1959 and aims to facilitate the technological advancement of its members through collaborative research in exploration, mining and processing.
As at June 30 1995 AMIRA had 73 projects under management valued at $35 million. During the past year members supported 17 new projects to a value of $9.25 million.
